I'm currently in a remote area where I don't have acess to conventional toys or lubes, I've been training using cucumbers in increased sizes, using crisco as a lube and some conditioner, but finding it does't slide well as I get deeper penetration.
Any comments on this and suggestions.

Cologne/perfume bottles, shampoo bottles... checking out a large pharmacy can give you many ideas. Just be safe and use condoms on them.

Avoid any glass or perspex material altogther!

I find eggplants/aubergines to be the best alternative to toys, and they come in all sizes!

I like plastic soda bottles. Look for the ones without a sharp "tit" on the bottom where the plastic was injected. Filled with water or the soda left in them unopened. I use the 20 OZ big end first ( 2.9 " DIA ). If you drop them and wrinckle the bumps, throw them out. Dont use any plastic that can crack. Not nearly as ugly as glass breaking inside but bad enough. Just an idea. Please don't use glass!
