How to stretch, and not make a mess (lube question)

Hello!

I've had the anal stretching hobby for a while, and I'm about at the point where I can take a fist with some discomforts. However, whenever I play I have lube (x-lube) going everywhere. It's suggested to use lots, and I do. However, it doesn't stay in place.

I usually play in the bathroom to 'mitigate' the problem, where I usually make a mess to the point where I'm sliding around on the floor trying to get something in my asscrack. Not efficient.

Any tips and tricks you could share with this amateur?

Use towels on the floor/bed/wherever you play, and plan so that you have all your toys and lube set up and ready so you don't have to walk somewhere to get something mid-sesh and drip lube everywhere.
Make sure to have plastic bags/containers for the towels and for paper ready to put stuff in when you're done.
Latex gloves + wet wipes saves you a lot of handscrubbing. Disinfectant spray or screen cleaner wipes are useful if you watch porn and get any devices sticky. (Better to have a playlist ready you can set off before you start so you don't have to touch anything.)

It's a good idea to have a dedicated place in your bedroom for all your lube, and to have a towel under it to catch drips and spills.

If you're pressed for time, always play in the shower and if you play late at night remember that you'll probably just pass out on the bed without cleaning up afterwards, so make sure you have time and privacy to do the clean up in the morning.

Oh, and silicone lube is the devils drool. Never tried x/j-lube or whatever it's called, but i've stuck with something called Aquaglide. It's supposedly water based except with a thicker consistency. You need to re-lube more often than with oil/silicone, but it's thicker and has more longevity than other water based lube i've found. It's a good compromise, particularly for quicker more casual play sessions where you play somewhat within your comfort zone. (It's actually the only lube i use now, and it comes in a big sized bottle with a push-pump that is super convenient and easy to clean.) And if you happen to spill it on the floor your house won't become a permanent death trap like with slicker lubes

It's a messy hobby so all you really can do is plan well and think about logistics.

Towels, towels, towels everywhere! It's the easiest solution. Plus, when you're done, just wrap all your toys in one of them, it's so convenient!

I personally always use 2 towels: one on the floor to catch all the excess lube dripping down my toys (I play on the ground, lol)) and one to wipe my hands, that I keep nearby.

Also, if you do use sillicone lube. I found out that shampoo somehow binds to it in such way that its easier to wash off, that might help with cleaning up :).

i use baby lotion, you can try that it's work so much better than any lube.

I usually use a towel under me, a towel and paper towels for cleaning off my hands, and another towel for sweat. I use x lube too and for heavier play sessions I use disposable puppy pads, they work really well but will stick to you if you touch them with something already wet.

same as above but also have a bash with coconut oil (raw virgin - or organic) you can also roll it up and use like suppository

tried that yesterday... a goodawful mess and the smell reminds me of christmas cookies....quite a turn-off, actually

how odd. I find it much less messy than the likes of j-lube.
