Well as a person with a bit of depth experience I would say you are starting with too wide of a toy.
I would recommend something as narrow as possible. 1.25-1.5" would probably be a good jumping off
point. At the 8 inch point what you are feeling is the beginning of the sigmoid colon. With a narrow
toy, a lot of lube and a little pressure it should pop past. It's a spincter just like the anus.
