i think it will be a good ide to make it a rule to post previews with your links

if this were to be a rule we would miss out on many great clips. we have many members who will add descriptions or sometimes even preview pics to posts without any. not all users know how to make preview pics, have the ability or do they all understand english.

my suggestion is this;
when you come to a post without a preview or description, browse the replys to see if there is any hint of what it might be. then either dl or hit the back button. about all one can do.

What the discerning pornocrat needs is some indication of the clip-content on which to found an informed decision whether to DL or not.Even though an image says more than a 1000 words, or so they say, when the (re-)poster lacks the means or skill for producing one, a well-phrased, compact, and to the point VERBAL description might well serve in lieu of a preview.

If the novel rule would be:
"The posting of a clip must be accompanied by a pre-view or a verbal description of its content"

Anallogic- if my wife looked that good when she was drunk, laying on the stairs & saying "I've fallen & I can't reach my beer" I wouldn't have nearly enought time to post here!

Again, I agree with both sides- I always want to see preveiw pics, but I never post them myself, so unless I know the source I wait for the reveiws....this is just laziness on my part & I will have a freind tell me how to do it next week!

But, probably, many don't have the resources some have & I would rather take the time to wait for a reveiw of their post than have good posts get lost by to much over-managing of this magical free site!

We are all big kids now, & should be able to take some resposibility for our deviant lifestyles---too much overseeing of what we can or cannot see is the reason we are all here today!

this novel rule is more reasonable, not to be ruled out
but again problems with language: maybe some members can barely read long sentences, let alone write them
ok, from a scientific-statistical point of view you would remark that the actual posters of content are the ones actually able to understand and be understood, while the non-speaking are the lurkers
but as xthorgal says a lurker today can be the great poster of tomorrow (i was a lurker at the beginning, maybe you too, many were)
and as anllover says, we can't risk to potentially miss great posters and clips
perhaps we could strongly encourage members to post previews and give descriptions, when able, even in topics which are not theirs

i think my awesome tutorial was a wonderful way to encorage preview pics. i have heard several people say they didnt even know how. now they do and they will start using it. i remember when i didnt know how.....
