Very good choice, M8 - I highly recommend it!

Only when my hole got too loose I changed it for a bigger and shorter one, because if you really want to go down the shaft the whole way, its a little long and - for me- got uncomfortable. But I'm more into width than depth, anyway!

I bought it a while ago, and found it was too long as you said. I ended up cutting the top third of the plug (and smoothing the edges of course), so that I could go down on the wider base.
