Abstract:

It has come to attention, that in order for laymen to avoid self-destruction, a paradigm shift has to be made in what has commonly been referred to as "dodo development."

If not being pensive about particular traits of survival, that would keep us alive in harsh conditions, specializing in a world of consumerism, will cause developments of a trivial nature, in this species' evolution. Unless it is eugenically compatible to mutate back to previous states, there wouldn't simply be inconvenience, but complete incompetence to become docile and domesticated by civilization.

Current technology is not a preservable foundation, unlike nature... because it circumvents powers that would regulate its usage. There is no natural selection of whether a gadget stays in circulation, or not. It is based on people's consumption of things they find to fill their time, because survival has become far too granting, due to a collective cooperation and co-existence among this species.

Design must co-exist with methodological naturalism.

Life subjugated to its own scrutiny in its primacy for survival, is inherently unstable. This is due to an unstable state being formed sooner than a stable state, due to complexity within stable sustainable states, in a variable environment. It's sloppy. Its sloppiness can grow exponentially, from deprivation and isolation. Specialization is a short-cut, so sometimes short-circuits, leaving a void for life to evolve alternatives.

It's a 27 million or so year cycle, where systems are taken for granted by life, in their reliability. Mass extinction after mass extinction.

Proposition:

Pleasure is a survival mechanism. Its facilitation must not be for its own sake, and its derision must be respected. What is a carrot, if not a bargaining chip? Every carrot must have its stick.

To be a well balanced individual, that stick is to be challenged. Is this fallacious consumption of pleasure, challenging? No, challenge is simply in one feat of pleasure, after another. This should be an obvious tell: that streak of instinct to compete, and not suffice, is being misdirected. And if sufficed by simply pleasure, that feeling of sufficiency is misplaced, and should also be perceived as instinct telling, that further challenge from something else, must be pursued.

To be dominant, to lead... to survive, test abilities to survive, to their limit. Everything else, comes after that protocol. Have judgment, or be judged by what can deliver it. Edited July 18, 2010 by deeply
