Even IF this guy would really pull some strings to get web cam sites properly ring-fenced and free for anybody that bothered to use PARTICULAR software that would be distributed, it's "elephant in room" scenario.

Except it's not a lone elephant, it's a lone man in a room full of elephants.

In this scenario, elephants will:

-rack up their costs on security, update their software, like last time.
-eventually, it will be a business not reasonable to invest in, when profits are expected to be returned. This will lead to stripping of resources, eventually leaving it like iFriends (an example of a broken wheel of a site, totally hacked, yet almost completely useless).
-This will send girls elsewhere, until there is nowhere else to go. These girls are entirely about self-promotion, this is NOT seen as a leisurely activity where money is no object: it is a sole object that is pursued at any cost.

It may be depressing to some, but that's how it is. Maybe if a temptation to make money out of this activity was taken away, it may not cause these girls to quit what they do, but sure enough, they will do LESS.

This decision, is not to be made alone, by one individual, no matter how powerful or Internet-tooled this guy is. There would have to be support given by a consensus. Edited May 9, 2010 by deeply
