But wait,, that Rocky file is the same piece of nothing like the other I Wrote about some days ago,, 270Mo lasting some 2 or 3 mns with seeking almost disabled. Vlc offers to repair the file at the opening but for nothing as the file keeps being broken.

Excuse me-but megaupload.com says that the scene was downloaded 25 times,& you are the [color="#FF0000"][b]ONLY[/b][/color] one saying that the links don't work.Now I am convinced your PC doesn't work as it supposed to.How come none of the other members here are not saying that the file is corrupt?!?

woa.. don't get me wrong, I'm not yelling at you, I'm simply stating that the last files you linked was bad in terms of files, not content and that I simply expect that someone doing something must do it right, or not. Period. Answering to what is supposed a yelling by yelling more, the BIG RED thing, doesn't serve to nothing, it's just boor !

As about my pc being something I don't know, of course you'll say that I can assert whatever I want but let me tell you this : there are 6 disks in it for a total of nearly 8To with (fresh count, 2mns ago) 680 movies for an average daily download of a minimum 1.5Go (and I'm not saying x content here), sO... I think that I know what I'm doing and saying.


PS: as I am using mydownloader.net, at first I thought that they were the culprit but as my support question never made it in their forum section for whatever reason and others downloads went well, I assume that your files are wrong in terms of codecs. Edited June 26, 2010 by parisienne17

Did you install them yourself?Because I don't think that a PC comes with 6 disks in it.
What processor do you have,what graphic card,how many RAM,what motherboard?Just the basics if you know your way around PCs.

And one more thing,how can I miss a codec if you are the one not able to see the scene(I have 183 codecs installed on my PC,so I wouldn't think I'm missing a codec).I converted the original .wmv(a closed format)to more convenient format(.avi - a open,free format))which any normal player should be able to play

dinko, I had no problems with either of those files. Haven't had a problem with anything you've uploaded, for that matter.

parisienne17, these files are encoded with divx 4 video codec and mp3 sound. Any divx version from 4 onward will play it, as well as xvid. All of these are fairly common, so I'll assume you have them. If you're only getting partial files, the problem may lie in what you are using to extract the files. If you're using winrar, check to see if it's the latest version. If you're not using winrar, get it and try it. And in the future, I'd wait to see if others have the same problem before you accuse a poster of not knowing what they're doing.

First, let me tell you that having 183 installed codecs is totally useless when xvid, X264 and FFDshow with the standard microsoft mpeg codecs are enough to handle any video, especially if you use mpc homecinema or vlc. Maybe you should take them all off and use something like Gordianknot codec pack that will install the minimum needed to handle and convert videos. THIS would prevent any bad converted movie !
Then do you really think that someone having 6 internal disks is someone buying a standard pc from the local distributor with a windows family something installed in it ?
And finally, did you really read what I wrote about more than 600 movies on my disks... ? Doesn't this really tell you anything about my ability or the capabiity of my pc to handle what I'm downloading ? Did you even try to download the last movie I spoke about to see if I really lost my marbles or if by any chance I was right ?? Did you ? I'm sure not and you're waiting for others to show and tell you what's right or wrong..? Come on... Wake up !

I got all the files by mydonwnloader.net through chrome browser, decompresing them with winrar (last version) gave me crc error on the archives on both the files I mentionned. Either mydownloader service is out of quality (that would explain why my support ticket never made it out in their forums) or some ghost in the machine would be acting....

They're small enough to download quickly from megaupload's free option. Also, if you want help, explain what happened better. You are just now explaining the crc error during extraction and, even so, have not mentioned if all the rar files produced errors or just one. CRC errors mean one of 2 things: 1. A corrupted file was uploaded, or 2. Something occurred in the download that corrupted the file. As others have been able to download and extract these files, it's obviously #2. I'd be willing to bet that using the free option will solve your problem (and the file won't count against your download limit). If not, try another browser or jdownloader if you have it.

I just suggest you to google if installing 183 codecs is the right thing to do and of course not looking for answers by the count of hits on particular sites but rather by relevance and professionalism, like IT sites, that leads me to the second part.. that if you think the numbers count for truth or relevance or rightfulness I also suggest you to look around, see the world you live in then come back to tell us the glory of it...

In fact, I tend to think that you're right on this for 2 obvious reasons : first, my support ticket was never (approved ?) posted by the admin on their support forums and second these files weren't the only ones giving me trouble. The only workaround on the crc errors was to set winrar to keep the broken archives with on some files seeking not working properly and on others ones big square chunks instead of the pictures, sign of a broken avi structure.

It is really nice today to pay for a service that is nearly bullshit !
