The best position depends on how can you stretch.

If you can introduce your hole hand till the wrist and much more wider--> any position.

If you have difficulties to introduce your own hand the best position is sitting down on your hand, in holding your hand relying on an elevated chair or furniture in your bathroom...This is what I do.
