    Short story-- it's too much of a legal risk to leave it uncensored, because all it takes to give the government an excuse to prosecute the company/sellers for obscenity is for there to be enough uptight dicks in a given location. And this country has a lot of uptight dicks.

    Because the "seek" function in VLC works best on AVI files. In general, I also tend to transcode in order to shrink files that are too large for my computer to play smoothly, cut/join video segments or remove audio (I do these things in Virtualdub, which works best with avi files), fix audio skew, and/or create thumbnails for files that are missing their thumbnail in windows explorer.

Although it's not technically illegal to put uncensored fisting on the shelves everywhere in the US, some jurisdictions can prosecute it, so rather than try to identify and avoid distributing to all of those jurisdictions, porn companies find it's less of a hassle to simply cut fisting scenes out of US releases or censor them (though this is the first time I've ever seen a non-Japanese scene blurred like this).
