The injury will heal if you don't aggravate it by further stretching before it's properly healed. The scar that remains will increase in strength rapidly at first, over the first few weeks and continue to gain strength up to approx a year. That said, it will never be quite as strong as the surrounding tissue (about 80%). These are general facts for surgical wounds. The perianal tissues heal pretty well in general, but I'd take it easy for some time.

The vagina is a blind-ended sac, and the depth you can insert an object therefore depends on the size of the sac and the compliance (stretchiness) of its walls. Both vary. The uterine cavity communicates with the abdominal cavity through the Fallopian tubes, so an infection inside the uterus can cause peritonitis which is another life-threatening emergency. I'd advise not trying to introduce anything through the cervix, though a soft object like a fingertip may be OK so long as it goes in easily, and doesn't go past the cervix (about an inch or 3cm from the external cervical opening). Even so, care needs to be taken wrt infection. Permanently stretching the cervix removes a key defence against ascending infection which is one of the main causes of premature birth, especially the very early cases with the worst prognosis. It's probably best to keep your cervix tight!

Interesting point about evolution. When the selective pressure to retain a gene is lost, it doesn't necessarily get extinguished. Surgery would not help, more likely the opposite. Anal gaping is a normal physiological response that can be learned (there was a thread about this on the old board). Doctors often find gay guys can do it voluntarily if the Dr needs access to the rectum for diagnostic purposes. Quite handy.
