From my experience, I would say a male ass is better. Men can take much deeper penetration, especially with fisting. A woman's ass and gape is more attractive, but men are the better performers - generally speaking.

You'll be fine. It's just part of anal stretching. Some people bleed, others don't. When I get fucked hard enough, I bleed one or two days after. Defecation can be painful for a few days as well.
