How do i make a preveiw picture for my post?

#1 - if you press your print screen button and paste into paint. then edit the pic and upload.
this is easy and requires no pictures or additional software.

you never know but i tried to make it with as few words as possible to deal with the language isssues often incountered in the worldly internet. if i think hard i can remember back to a day when i didnt know how to make preview pics

may i add: for mov-files you can also use vlc player and make snapshots by using video/snapshot in the menu. you can choose the place where the files are saved in preferences/preferences/video.

Thanx buddies! I never put a prevew on my posts before for the simple reason I did`nt know how to do it!
I think it`s quite fair to post with prevs, so I will try to learn.

you know there is some ediquite on using super huge pics in your posts.... really messes up the page making it a pain to read.

Thanks a lot for the instructions and pointers.
Media Player Classic unfortunately did not operate on some of my files. But when it does it works fine.
VLC Player seems to be pretty stable and works on almost anything but it's a lot of work to compile all the snapshots to a single preview image.
Image Grabber II is pretty perfect. I especially like the fact that I can remove and move single snapshots before I save the image. BTW, I downloaded it from http://download.videohelp.com/download/ImageGrabberII.zip

thanks xrrat for the reply and the link... i have added it to my txt doc for next time i re-write it in a big way

and yes the programs dont always work on all files but with several choices you can work your way from less work to more work depending on fails or not.

and there is alway; print screen and paste into MS paint if you really get desperate but yes the VLC is most labor intensive BUT almost NEVER fails
