are poppers safe?

Recommended Posts

Depends on what's actually in them I.E which nitrite analogue they are. Current poppers (the ones I can get in Australia, at any rate) tend to really irritate my lungs if I huff more than two or three hits a session a few times a week, back in the day when you could actually get amyl (>20 yrs ago) I could huff all day everyday without dramas.

So I guess what I'm saying is, your mileage may vary as to how they affect you. Only way to find out is to try them. Go easy at first if you've never tried them before, maybe one sniff a session. Even after you've been using them a while, less is probably more.

So far as 'safety' goes, given what they actually are chemically tends to change every couple of yrs as different analogues get banned in various countries, it's hard to absolutely say. The only thing re: safety I've been able to find was medical articles by ophthalmologists saying some heavy users end up with macular problems from isopropyl nitrite use. And then I saw something else quoting other ophthalmologists who said the sample size of people affected was too small & there may have also been other factors at play (E.G smoking) which weren't considered or mentioned. So I dunno ;-)

Same reason all other drugs get banned. Government controlling the people. Poppers are safe in moderation. Don't drink it and don't use it with Viagra or cialis. It makes anal much better, trust me.

Just be careful. I've ended up in the hospital once from an overdose have had other issues as well. I've stopped using them for that reason because it's just not worth the dangers. Overdosing on poppers has essentially the same effect on your body has carbon monoxide poisoning.

"Poppers can cause poisoning which can even occasionally be fatal if you get enough into the body. This can happen easily through accidental swallowing, but inhaling poppers in very large quantities can cause overdoses too. The reason is that the chemical converts the red haemoglobin in the blood into methemoglobin, turning the blood chocolate brown. Haemoglobin is needed to deliver oxygen round the body, so the result of severe ‘methemoglobinemia’ is oxygen starvation, potentially leading to organ failure, blindness, brain damage, or in the worse cases, death."

Please be careful.

Safety of the drug itself aside, we have nerves with pain receptors for a reason. If it hurts a lot, you're probably going too fast and risking damage that takes time or possibly a trip to the hospital to heal....covering up those sensations with drugs (whether they're poppers or weed or just topical benzocaine) could end up with you tearing something that needs medical attention.

Just go slow and don't rush things.

Yep spot on Jdeesohs. Banned amyl way back which was relatively safe compared to what we have now, ended up with a bunch of other chemicals which are probably less safe to use. Constantly playing Whack-a-Mole to ban these, when one is banned gets replaced by an even more noxious substance with more risks for users.

Don't buy crap, for a start. I order mine from USPopShop. I have no vested interest.

I huffed bad poppers once and ended with damaged eyesight which lasted for weeks. It fixed itself but it wwasa big scare.

Overdosing will lower your number on Lymphocytes, making you anemic. There are serious studies linking poppers to aids, where poppers basically make your immune defenses weak, thus making you more likely to catch a disease. No, poppers don't give you aids. They increase the risks.

If you see a blotch in the center of your eye sight: stop.

If you get a headache: you just overdosed.

If you get a herpes outbreak after using poppers heavily: not a surprise.

If your extremities become numb or tingle: stop that brand immediately.

Careful about brands in general: they are not trademarked. Anybody can make Rush or Pig Sweat.

So, yes, I use poppers, but good stuff. I have tossed poppers out right after a couple huffs. Not worth hurting myself.

I've never felt the need for poppers so I've never taken the risk. Many of the guys I play with use them but I don't think they enjoy it any more than I do. It's almost as though its a tradition rather than a necessity.

I got heavily into poppers at one point using them daily while masturbating to porn. I found it made almost feel the scenes. I developed an arthritis like issue in my arm due to repetitive strain. After a while I started feeling pain there each time I puffed.

Also poppers work in the same way Viagra does in terms of blood flow. Doing it daily messes up the thickness of your veins. At one point it got so bad I couldn't get an erection, even with Viagra for a while.

For me, I like feeling it while I'm being stretched. Most I do is a non-nsaid, so my blood doesn't thin in case I tare something or while play-piercing my cock and nuts, to handle just a little more pain.

Same here. Sorry for the free ad for them. Their quality went South and I would not support them again.
